The Journey of New Life

Christian band "New Life" was founded in 1981. The original band was consistent of - Nikolenko Nikolay the band leader (vocals, guitar), Oleksandr Tkachuk (vocals, keyboards), Vladimir Titov (vocals, guitar), Vladimir Babenko (bass guitar), Lubov Shaida (vocals), Vahnenko Aleksander (recordist), Alexander Kryvoruchko (drums). The band performed across Ukrainian churches during the Soviet Union regime, when any kind of evangelization was forbidden, and Christian songs were banned. The only way to evangelize to people publicly was singing Christian songs at Christian weddings.
Indeed it was a great opportunity. The Christian wedding would have believers and not believers, and both groups would witness songs which glorified the name of our Lord. When Ukraine gained its independence and religion gained its freedom of speech the band went to evangelization in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, where many people not only heard the word of God but accepted the Lord in their hearts.
As time went on, the band naturally rotated musicians and singers.
In the second generation of the band "new life" participated such musicians as Nikolai Nikolenko guitarist & the band leader, Timothy Seagull (keyboard), Yuri Sholoh (bass guitar), Petr Nosach (saxophonist), Vladimir Soloshenko (drums). This version of the band was especially blessed through the mission of evangelization concerts across Ukraine and abroad. One of the albums was recorded, titled "the road to the temple.”
The group participated in many large crusades spreading the message of “Good News” in stadiums, concert halls with well-known evangelists such as John Guest, Victor Branicky, Victor Gum, Franklin Graham, and many other notable preachers.
The Band New Life continued to work recorded its signature album named “New Life.”In the recording participated Nicholay Nikolenko, Alexandre Borovik, Igor Bovkunenka Alexandr Vahnenko.
As time passed by and the band gained popularity in the Christian community, the group invited Stepan Vaselishin, a well-known guitarist, with whom they recorded their next album, entitled "Fatherland in Heaven."
In 1991 the Group was exclusively invited to participate in a large evangelization across the Siberia / Irtysh rivers Tabol and Obi. The initiative was called "Christ to the peoples of Siberia." It was a special time as “New Life” testified the glory of Messiah to thousands of people in many towns and cities. The participants of this mission included such musicians as Nikolenko Nikolay, Timoty Seagull, Stepan Vasilishin, Alexander Vahnenko, Piotr Nosach.
In 2004 the group made a shift in the style of music, which focused on acoustic instruments. The band also invited Pyotr Kavalenka a well-known guitarist, honored artist of Ukraine. At the time the band consisted of Nikolay Nikolenko band leader ( vocals), Alexandre Borovik (acoustic bass, vocals), Stepan Vasilishin (acoustic guitar, vocals), Peter Kovalenko (acoustic guitar, vocals). These members of the band recorded a new album in an acoustic performance "The Choice." Christian group "New Life" also took an active part in touring the album across Ukraine and abroad.
This composition of the band was very successful and was able to record two more albums "On the Road of Life" and "The Burning Fire”. The recording also involved a famous Christian guitarist Vladimir Sushko.
The band was becoming in demand and the group continued to expand more and more. The testimony of “Good News” required the band to travel to all kinds of ministries and not all band members could continue with those requirements. The composition of the group changed again and included Nikolay Nikolenko, Stepan Vasilishin, Vladimir Sushko, Alexander Lazorenko (acoustic bass guitar, vocals) former leader of the group “Door.”  Alexander Lazorenko was a graduate of two Christian seminaries and served a preacher in the ministries in which the group took part. In this lineup, the group continued to work and recorded a new album called “God is Love.”
After some time, due to family circumstances, Vladimir Sushko could no longer travel with the group, and only three musicians remained in the bang: Nikolay Nikolenko, Stepan Vailishin, and Alexander Lazarenko. The Band update to the new band name - Trio New Life. Soon a series of albums were recorded, “I sing with my guitar”  “Before and After,” “Between summer and fall,” a new album “The Clock Beats.” With the participation of Vladimir Sushko was recorded “Eternal Spring.”
Unfortunately, after some time, Stepan Vasilishin had to leave the band. His contribution to the cause is unparalleled. By the Grace of God, Alexander Borovik was available to record a new album “Only Forward.” After the tour of the new album, Alexander had to return to his ministry. After many prayers, the Lord sent a new band member Vasily Malinovsky who now plays the keyboard. Vasily is a professional musician and  a former member of the group "the door." None really knew how will the group would sound in this new format but, we were confident that this was the answer to our prayers.
Today, the band is back to its original name “New Life” and is preparing to record a new album. The current plan is to tour Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Belarus, and Siberia.
